Stewart is a plein air artist working mainly outdoors, on location, in all weather, painting quickly and dynamically. He draws his inspiration from the light and energy of the place he is working in, constantly finding that the painting is an alchemy between him and the place. Rain, wind and light will all often contribute to the mark making and can have a major effect on the painting.
